NordMAB 2015

Participants from seven countries visited the River Landscape Nedre Dalälven at the annual NordMAB conference on 20-21 October. Important issues to cooperate in discussions and our biosphere, with a focus on the entrepreneurs operating in the area were presented to the participants. NordMAB is a network which brings together eight countries for regular meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation between biosphere reserves in the northernmost regions. Sweden was this year's host country, and the conference was held in the River Landscape Nedre Dalälven, with accommodation and conference at the City Hotel in Säter.

Study of the surroundings began with a tour of Säters inner city and continued along Ljusterån stream and down to Säterdalen valley, which is part of the biosphere reserve core area. Lunch was served at Bispbergs manor and in the afternoon we visited Visthusboden and Skedvi bread in Stora Skedvi. The conference concluded with a workshop where participants listed some important issues to cooperate in: open landscape, sustainable tourism and promotion of the brand Biosphere Reserve.
